Incentive Trip- Day 7

Today, we arrived in the South of France…totally different vibe than Italy.  Very laid back, easy going and celebrating the “art of life.”

Our guide wanted us to try local cuisine….it was very good.  We did substitute the sardines for marinated pepperoncini.  And, I’m not an olive person so I didn’t care for the tapenade.  Of course, my carb loving daughter chowed down on the baguette.

Flowers are a very big deal here…..our guide told use to try the ice cream and we couldn’t get plain old chocolate or vanilla!  Taryn had rose and I had violet.  Made with real flowers, it was very fragrant and delicious.

We could not go to Monaco and Monte Carlo since the Grand Prix was happening and the roads were closed.  We went to St Paul de Vence and it was just lovely.  Many famous painters lived here because of the amazing light.  I can see why……they paid their rent with their paintings to this area has some VERY expensive works of art, that were worth little while the painters were alive, but became priceless after they died.

Tonight, Stampin’ Up! took us to a show called Burn the Floor, very Dancing with the Stars.  The performers were awesome.  It’s also a bittersweet night for us….Taryn was missing her high school graduation.  It was sad to think of all her friends….graduating without her.  But, we are on an amazing trip, so we aren’t too very sad.

On Wednesday, we went to breakfast…which, of course, is done Stampin’ Up! style! Our placemats were based on the stamp set Everything Eleanor!  Aren’t they clever?   We loaded up on the buses and headed to the Polynesian Cultural Center where we had the place to ourselves for the morning!     We all gathered…

This was a stampin’ day….time to say goodbye! We had a service project in the morning- assembling hygiene kits for one of the homeless shelters.  By the time we got to the room, the work was all done!  Each of us were asked to donate a boxed lunch as well.  That would be served on…

Welcome to Marsielle!  Our last port! We started put pretty early and Marsielle was very quiet and peaceful….something we weren’t used to.  The one thing that was astounding about driving in Italy was the traffic!  My word!!!  2 lanes become 6 lanes….stop lights are optional and there are hundreds of moped/scooters all over the place….

At my request, the Dairy Farmer conceded to go on a dolphin tour.  We had an amazing experience in Florida last fall with seeing bottlenose dolphins so close that I could’ve reached out and touched them!  You can’t get much more exciting than that….but Hawaii has lots of spinner dolphins, so tiny and cute and…

Time to go home….although our plane didn’t leave until 10:50pm.  Since we missed our Diamond Head hike with the group, we decided we could do that before we left it was a decent hike up with some beautiful views from the top!  We got lost in a little town and ended up having some good…
