#imbringingbirthdaysback Birthday Bash part 1
What an amazing day! My team put together an awesome event at Norlo Park (I know, I’m biased…I love my team!). We wanted to jump on board with Shannon West’s movement to bring birthdays back! If you aren’t familiar….Shannon is an employee at Stampin’ Up! In early January of this year, she made a comment that Facebook seems to be hurting birthdays…yes, we receive tons of virtual wishes, but we aren’t taking the time to send a card with a handwritten note! She said that the hand written note from your friends/family is like a gift itself, and I think that is so true. So she said, she was “bringing birthdays back” (coining the phrase from a Justin Timberlake song) and then asked anyone who would like a birthday card on their birthday to comment on her facebook page. Well….little did she know a new movement was born! Shannon carved her very own #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp and got to work making cards for over 1500 people all over the world!!! Demonstrators world wide felt exactly what Shannon was saying…and we got to work sharing this idea with our customers! Let’s send birthday cards, you guys!!! It makes people feel so blessed!!! In the meantime, Stampin’ Up! jumped on board and manufactured Shannon’s hashtag stamp! It can be yours for only $7.00, so if you’d like to add one, please let me know. Now, the amazing thing is this…..google #imbringingbirthdaysback and you’ll see TONS of cards/posts/images etc as we’ve all started using the hashtag which links everything together!
My team wanted to hold an event as well and celebrate all of our amazing customers, so our birthday bash was born! We even sang happy birthday to ourselves and had some delicious cake!
I know I had a great time and I am sure we’ll do it again next year!
