WOW Wednesday- March

WOW did not disappoint this month!  I had to postpone this class in early March.  Thankfully, we had a great turnout for class at the end of the month!  WOW class is designed for the advanced stamper…this month was definitely a challenge for even the seasoned ladies!  It’s fun to go outside the box and challenge ourselves and see what we can do with something as simple as stamps and paper!

Many of you ask if you can handle WOW class…I don’t always know how to answer, it can depend on the projects and how comfortable you are.

Sometimes wow is challenging…sometimes it’s simple, yet the end result can be simply “wow.”  So, I would say…if you are comfortable using stamps, ink, adhesive, scissors, scoring tools, big shot and understand the basics of stamping.  Wow might be for you.  If you can “speak” the language….knowing how to score, stamp off, 2 step stamping, etc, wow might be for you.

I don’t recommend wow to the beginning stampers, it can be a bit overwhelming and I hate for anyone to leave frustrated.  I have many classes suitable to beginners.  Join me, get your footing, make some projects and perhaps join us for wow once you feel comfortable.

I “teach” at wow class….so you don’t have to know how to make the particular the project on  your own….I am here to teach that to you during class!  But having a grasp on the stamping basics is very helpful!  Of course, attending with a knowledgeable stamping friend can be a big help too!

All of these projects came from other demos…we are blessed to have so many creative brains out there!  I do have video tutorials ready to go for the next three movie mondays!

Here is what we created:

WOW Wednesday- January

Well…technically not January, WOW class happened in February and…on Thursday.  Thanks for going with the flow..my vacation and my son’s birthday affected my plans.  Now, lacrosse is starting and it’s affecting my class schedule as well, so WOW in February, will really be in March (you all following?)

We had full classes and lots of fun!  Here is what we created:

This amazing card is called Faux Quilt and was from Dawn Griffith…as soon as I get some more gold foil, I’ll do a video tutorial for ya.  It looks harder than it is.

Found this from Julie Davidson and knew it had to be a wow….LOTS of die cutting but love the end result.  The designer papers are 2 x 2 squares (cut 5) and the white is 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 (cut 5).  The Mint Macaron is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and the white mat is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4.  All items are layered on a 8×8 square of Night of Navy.  I purchased the frame at Michaels.  It’s a shadow box frame and came in a 3 pack for 29.99….and of course I used my 40% off coupon!

This idea came from pinterest and I was loving it.  Lots of browns, lots of sponging and I used the watercolor pencils for her hat/dress.  The distressing and sponging gives such a nice vintage feel.

Thanks so much for stopping by!    All supplies can be found in my online store at http://www.jodybrechbill.stampinup.net

A fun alternative to your Santa die!  Found this cutie on Pinterest.  Simply die cut Santa on the Pool Party cardstock and then cut his face right off.  Fun!

This project was made at my upline’s meeting by my friend, Carol Barr.  I believe it came form StampAmore?  Many of you had commented on it and so we had to make it in class.  It’s a gift card/treat holder.  Mints, Kisses, even chapstick fit perfectly!  Check out my tutorial:  CLICK HERE

Thanks SO much for your patience!  I’ll work on getting caught up before the end of the year, I promise!

Movie Monday

Got a little behind due to vacation…..I had the video ready to go, but my husband and I decided to spend an extra day in Florida before we met up with the rest of the family.  Our 20th anniversary was last Wednesday.  We took a break from our drive and did a kayak trip through the Okefenokee Swamp (saw some SERIOUS gators) then spent the night in St. Augustine so we could watch the sunrise on the beach Tuesday morning.    Then….the fun began!  We met up with my sister and her family, my dad and his wife and my son flew in on Tuesday and my daughter on Wednesday and then….a Disney filled Thanksgiving!  Needless to say, my movie did not get published and we are exhausted!
