Magnolia Mood- Ombre Technique

I’m back from a quick trip to Utah for a little R & R with my farmer! I’m learning to lean into my trips (and trust me, Farmer and I LOVE to travel) and let things go! I am trying to turn off (my mind and devices) and not worry so much! Anyway, that’s my reason for not posting for a bit 😉

I do have this gorgeous project to share with you- it’s quite easy and simple but packs a WOW!!!

All you’ll need is 3 different ink colors, Blending Brushes and a Water Painter or small paint brush. Now, LET’S GO!!!

Start with Basic White (5 1/4 x 4) Create a border using Masking Paper/Post It Notes (I used Post It Note Tape) Something with some stick. My border is 1 1/2 inches, but it can be as wide as you choose!

Using Blending Brushes and 3 colors of ink, create and Ombre look, but blending ink darker to lighter. I used Petunia Pop, Flirty Flamingo and Bubble Bath. Start light- you can always add more ink, but you can’t take it away 😉

Allow the ink to have a little bit of drying time, then using your Water Painter (or small paint brush) and flick water on the inked area. Carefully remove paper strips and allow plenty of drying time!

Once everything is dry, stamp your image. I used Magnolia Mood and Memento Black Ink. You may be surprised how it looks when you first do it, to what it looks like when fully dry! I added my finished project to a layer of Petunia Pop, which has quickly become my favorite In Color!

I hope you’ll try this technique!

Spotlight on Nature- pt 2

It’s no secret, I’m in love with this bundle! I spent a weekend creating and wanted to share my beautiful projects! I focused on using more neutral colors with these 3 projects. I think they turned out pretty cool!

Try using your clear stampin’ blocks as an ink pad! I added Peach Pie to Block H and spritzed with water. Then stamp the block onto our new Basic Beige, allow to dry. Such an easy technique!

For the last card, I stamped the flowers in Early Espresso on Basic Beige, then colored with Wink of Stella. It gave an almost sepia look. I love it!
