Blendabilities…how to

Some of our blendabilities are available now….and the rest will be on August 1st.  If you haven’t tried them….well, you’re missing out!  They are easy to work with and give such a great color, different than markers, aqua painters or blender pens.    I have received many questions about the difference in all of these so here is my opinion.

Markers:  sometimes these are too dark for what I am looking for.  I tend to use my markers when I want 2 different colors on one stamps.  I use the brush end and color the stamp instead of ink.  Some of the lighter shades I just color right onto my already stamped image.

Blender Pens: already have liquid in them.  I use these when I want to water color a smaller, detailed image.  If you “squish” your ink pad (top and bottom) while closed, there will be a pool of ink in the lid.  I pick up my color from there using blender pens.  When done, just swipe the pen on scrap paper until it’s clean.  You’re ready for the next color.

Aqua Painter:  these need filled with water.  I use these when I have a larger image or want a more water colored look or even when doing a color “wash’ for a background.  I use them the same way as the Blender pen.  The problem with both pens come when you go over the image too much and it will start to peel your cardstock and break down the fibers.  Blendabilities will not do that.

When using blender/aqua pens, you need to use Stazon ink.  It is an alcohol based ink and is not water soluble.  Therefore it will not bleed when coming in contact with the blender/aqua pens.  When using Blendabilites, you must use Memento ink.  Since the blendies are alcohol based, they will smear stazon ink.
