Back to Reality

I have returned from my annual spring retreat…..what once started out as scrapbooking, has transformed into…..a “whatever you want to create weekend away with my girls.”  Some of us stamp, some scrap, some paint, some crochet.  It’s not about what we do, it’s about getting away…..leaving our cares behind and spending a weekend away in the woods.  Needless to say, we take too much stuff, we eat a lot, we laugh a lot and we sleep way too little!  Coming home is like detoxing- I am still not caught up and I’m still not unpacked.  That’s a long explanation as to why there was no Movie Monday yesterday 🙂

I was going to work on my albums this time and I took Project Life along.

We even had a bit of snow to make our cozy cabin the woods seem even more peaceful.

Project Life was in the house this weekend.  I worked steadily from Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon, with a small break for dinner at Hickory Bridge Farm- hello!

I was very pleased to have all of 2012 in my album and almost all of 2013.  Project Life just made things go together smoothly.  Now, it is not traditional scrapbooking, it is different.  But, I know how many years worth of pictures I have in boxes.  I know that my kids haven’t seen them in years.  I know that I am doing this for my children and I know they really don’t care how fancy my pages are, they want to see pictures and my journaling.  So I have conceded to this system to get my memories documented before I forget them!  It really is quick and easy.  Now, I can “bam” those pages up a bit if I want.  But, this weekend was about getting them in an album so my kids had something to look and laugh about when I returned home.  And boy, did they ever!

I was able to knock out 95 pages…..2 other girls were project lifing as well and they did 80 pages and 55 pages.  That’s incredible.

I want to share more about Project Life if you are curious, so mark your calendar for March 21st at my place at 6pm.  It’s just an information session….but after, if you want to bring your own pics and PL stuff and have some free work time, feel free!  I can tell you there will be a giveaway, so plan on joining me!

Thanks for visiting!
